We thought that it may be helpful to start a FAQ page considering that we are asked a lot of the same questions by many different people. This may help with any questions that you may have. If you don't see something listed below that you would like to ask, feel free to seek out an admin and we'll be happy to answer it for you!
1. Do your characters have magical powers? No. Any magical/mystical powers that characters may have had in movies or shows are null and void (unless discussed and agreed upon otherwise with an admin). We are dealing with an apocalypse scenario. Yes, weird and strange things happen, which we do account for in our SL's, however, if our characters were privy to their powers, the apocalypse would end in no time at all, leaving us with nothing to write for within the group.
2. I'm new to the group, can I have more roles? We love it when everyone in our group is excited to take on more roles, and we're thrilled with the interest! That being said, if you have just joined us, you will need to make it through the one week trial period before you are allowed to take on more roles. This is just to ensure that we don't have someone taking on more roles than they can handle within their first week, only to drop out entirely, leaving us with a large group of unfilled roles.
3. Can I change an FC for an available role? We mark all roles with flexible FC's as "Changeable upon request" meaning that you are welcome to change them as you join (just be sure to let an admin know so we can ensure that the FC of your choosing isn't already taken). There are some roles that are not changeable. Those do not have any sort of indication listed that they are able to be changed.
4. Is this an open group? Can we RP outside of Doomsday? No. These story lines are written specifically for and by Doomsday members. All story lines must be kept within the family to lessen the confusion as to who is in the family and who is not. You're free to speak to whomever you wish on your OOC, but your SL accounts are to be kept within the Doomsday family.
5. My partner hasn't been online in a while and I'm stuck without their reply. What can I do to avoid an inactivity check? If your writing partner has not been on in at least two weeks, feel free to move your character and progress the story line as it was intended to be. We all get stuck, so we get that! But it's important to keep those story lines moving and the family active.
